I make and used to sell country hand painted decorative woodcrafts, my business name is "Handmade with Love". I love to garden, make scrapbooks, go to yard sales and thrift stores to find cool things for my house and then laugh when I go to the antique stores and say, " HA!! I got that for $1.00 at a yard sale!!" I love country decorating and I subscribe to NUMEROUS country and country decorating magazines
I also love to talk on mirc (an inter relay chat program). I have made many wild and crazy friends from all over the world. I can be found on dalnet as "kraftee" on the channels #mIRC4dummies and #funonly.
I taught myself how to make webpages during the summer of 1997 and have been given many awards :) I love to be able to use the computer to be creative. I am in the process of trying to learn how to make backgrounds and graphics for webpages, like the ones I have borrowed from many talented ladies.
I was hired to make a website for a woman that sells Country Home Decor, and in doing research for her site, I noticed there were alot of "online craftmalls" and people that were selling their crafts on the web, but so many of them lacked the homespun country feel that we get when going to a craftmall or craftshow/boutique.
I know from experience how an cute booth display attracts potential customers to a booth, I feel the same to be true for online craftsales. So, I started my own webpage design specializing in the creation of webpages for crafters who want to sell online, its called Handmade Country Webdesign
I am married and have two cute daughters. Ashley, who is 11 and Kelsie, who is 9. I am a SAHM (stay at home mom). All I have ever wanted to do was to be a good mom, whether my girls agree that I am good, I try my hardest to be. I have felt VERY strongly about staying home to raise them, I don't want my kids coming home from school to an empty house or being raised in daycare. I have though, found ways to earn money while still being home, which has its good and bad points, but I am proud to have accomplished a successful craft business, and now, hopefully a webdesign business.
I live in the beautiful desert of southern Utah. We moved into our first real home that I have been waiting 12 years for in December of 1997! Yippi Skippi Yahooey!!
We bought a 3 bedroom 2 bath modular home (just under 1500 sq feet) and put it on top of a full, unfinished basement. I now have a home to decorate with all the collections I have acquired during the last 15 years. In my dining room, instead of a a traditional railing on my stairwell, I made a picket fence and painted it to have the "worn" look, it is really cute and I have gotten MANY compliments on it. I decorated around it with gardening tools, silk ivy, seed packets, baskets, and wreaths.
We have a HUGE greenhouse in our backyard that we grow bedding plants, perennials, and vegetables for our yard. Planting flowers and pulling weeds are a great way for me to relieve stress!! We live in the desert and the myth of not being able to have a yard full of flowers in the desert simply ISN'T true! You just have to know what your doing *grin*
