"Life is no brief candle to me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations."

~ A Little Bit About Me ~
I am so glad you could make it here!!! I would like to tell you a little about myself and share with you some of the things that are important to me so you will know a little bit about me. I also have some great sites you may want to visit so please make yourself at home and enjoy.
My name is Charo and I am a first generation Norwegian/Canadian with equally strong ties to both Norway and Canada. Except for my immediate family all my relatives are now residing in Norway in and around the Rogaland area (Kleppe, Ręge, Sandnes, Sola, Tjelta and Voll).
I was born March 12, 1948 in Edmonton, Alberta and lived most of my childhood on a very large productive farm owned by my grandparents in Rife. I had the rare opportunity of growing up around thousands of acres of wheat, barley and hay and with livestock consisting of cattle, horses, pigs, chickens and turkeys. Most of my teenage years up to and including today I have lived in and around the metropolis of Vancouver and Surrey, British Columbia. I raised two beautiful children, Karen and Darren.
Having had the opportunity to grow up in both entirely different atmospheres I am sure has had a very strong bearing on my ability to co-exist in both worlds, although I must admit I prefer the quiet easy going lifestyle that the smaller towns offer. I have an adventurous spirit, a good sense of humor and I would say very honest and loyal to my friends. Although I enjoy the daily challenges that I face in my diverse environment, I enjoy the simple pleasures that this fantastic life has to offer, like experiencing the smell of the freshly fallen rain or watching a breathtaking sunset overlooking our Rocky Mountains or Pacific Ocean. Quiet strolls on secluded beaches, hiking on one of the several paths found throughout our beautiful snowcapped mountains and horse back riding ( when available) through lush green valleys are experiences that are beyond words.
Throughout the day, Monday through Friday, you will find me at my workplace, the ICBC Insurance Corporation of British Columbia where I am a qualified automobile telephone claims adjuster.
Well, thanks for dropping by, and perhaps by you finding this page, we have found the opportunity to become great friends.
