Sign on gate reads "Pleasant Garden Cemetery, 1824". Believe this to be site of earliest Methodist Church in that area, for which land was conveyed by William Covey. Buried there: Covey, Rebeckah, consorte of Wm. Covey, died 18 Oct., 1833, aged 93 yrs.; and Covey, William, d. 14 Feb, 1839, aged 91 yrs.
