Anna Maria WARENBUER or Marie de la WARREMBERE married a French Huguenot and moved to Landau, Rhenish Palatinate, Bavaria in 1685 and by 1687 to Steinweiler, Bavaria to escape persecution. After her husband's death in 1708, Maria immediately secured a passport to leave in Esopus, Holland. While her oldest children and their families left immediately, Maria and the remaining children did not leave for another year - arriving at St. Katharine's, London, England on 6 May 1709. While in England, Maria met William Penn and had an audience with Queen Anne. It appears that Maria and her younger children came to New York, NY on the ship Lyon on 13/14 June 1710. Maria seems to have overwintered that year at New Paltz, Ulster Co., NY, as that is where her oldest children were, before moving on to Germantown, PA. After securing land rights there, Maria was a leading force in moving on to Strasburg (now Paradise) Township in Chester (now Lancaster) Co., PA. She is buried at Carpenter's Cemetery near Paradise, Lancaster Co., PA.
