On the 20th of September, the day before she was due, Adair was VERY large. I was guessing about 6 pups at least, and so were many others that participated in my "guessing game" (guesses ranged from 3 to 8, 6 was the most common I think). Well on the 21st I was rather disappointed to awake to NO pups. But when I returned home from school, I found one pup in the nest with her!

Chubby on day 23!

Well I checked on her every now and then after that. Between 3pm and 4pm she had 2 pups. Between 4 and 5 she had only one more. But between 5 and 6 she had two within minutes of each other. Then she snuck another one in between 7 and 8pm! So the six pups names are Alexandria, Sirrus, Mary-Eben, Anthony, Ulysses and Molly. Alexandria is named after Alex Wentworth, a friend of John Danziger's on the TV show Earth2; Sirrus I took from Myst, but it has a connection to my E2 fanfic; Mary-Eben is named after Mary, and Eben Singh 2 characters on E2; Anthony is, ummm, just a name; Ulysses is named after Devon Adair's son; and Molly is named after Debrah Farentino's daughter. Debrah Farentino played Devon Adair on Earth2. Gee I'm not obsessed, no ;)

Six pinkies!

The pups are 2 agoutis (Molly & Sirrus), 2 ruby eyed whites (Alexandria & Ulysses), a DEH/nutmeg (Anthony) and a mystery girl, Mary-Eben. Here are pictures!

	Sirrus is a sweet little agouti boy. He is looking for the right home. See my adoption page.

	Alexandria is a pretty little ruby eyed white (?) girl who is now living in Arizona with her boyfriend, an agouti feller from Mindy ;)
	Ulysses is a cute little ruby eyed white boy who is going to live in Maryland with Selene ;)
	Anthony is a nutmeg boy. He is so cool! I got to watch him molt partway. Nutmegs rule. He's going to live in SC with Molly.

10/25/98 ::sniff:: ::sniff:: the babies are so big now = ( No more pictures! If you're interested in Molly (agouti F) or Sirrus (agouti M) please see my adoption page because they're looking for homes = ) Mary-Eben is either going to live with Anthony down in S. Carolina or I'm keeping her (I'm not sure yet). Alexandria is going with Sebastian (from Kelly Litter #4) to Arizona, and Ulysses is going with Selene from Kelly Litter #1 to Maryland = )

10/20/98 As of today, 2 agoutis (1M, 1 F) are available = ) Please let me know if you're interested! Today I got some pictures of Mary and put them on a page. She's very odd.

10/15/98 Okay the two REWs *might* be available. Lisa was going to take them but she's not 100% sure she can, so if you're interested contact me so I can let you know if she decides she can't have them. Also possibily available is Selene from Kelly Litter #1 (yes I *still* have her! ;) who was going to be paired to the little boy REW. Then of course the 2 agoutis still need homes. So let me know if you're interested! I almost definitely can ship.

10/11/98 Well all but 2 of the pups have homes = ) Anyone looking for 2 nice agoutis? Seriously tho Molly & Sirrus would make a cool pair if you like surprises. Who knows what genes they carry!

10/10/98 All the eyes are open! I'm pretty sure Mary is DEH, and Anthony is probably nutmeg. Adair & Danziger are so funny! The babies are 19 days old and they're still dragging them back to the nest! I and I do mean DRAGGING ;)

10/7/98 Molly has 1 eye open today, and Sirrus has BOTH!

10/6/98 Don't count your polar foxes til they molt! ;) Mary's getting kind of a yellow tinge which *might* mean she's a dark eyed honey. I really have no idea. She's way lighter than any DEH I've seen and way lighter than her cousin (also a DEH) so go fig. We'll see = ) If she is a DEH then she & Anthony (who I have a feeling is nutmeg) will be available of course. So feel free to reserve them! The two agoutis are also available; they'd make a fun breeding pair.

10/1/98 OK I'm ready to commit. I think Mary-Eben is a polar fox or silver nutmeg. And rule #1 in a gerbil breeder's handbook is YOU DO NOT GIVE AWAY A POLAR FOX!! = ) Therefore I will be keeping Mary-Eben. And, possibly, Anthony to breed to her. It depends what Anthony ends up being (I am confuuuuuused--but I think nutmeg). If he's nutmeg, I *might* not keep him because Mary-E might be a silver nutmeg and I *might* only get nutmeg from them. If that's the case I might get an agouti from Mindy. We'll see how it works out. The two REWs are pretty much reserved. The two agoutis are available though! And what sweeties they are!

9/28/98 The colors are a bit clearer today. And I think I know the genders pretty well. And the names = ) Sirrus is a golden agouti male, Molly is a golden agouti female, Alexandria is a ruby eyed white (or maybe ivory cream) female, Ulysses is a REW (or ivory cream) male, Anthony is a DEH/nutmeg male and Mary-Eben is . . . a mystery. She's either a light light DEH (such as the ones I've seen at Lisa's) or maybe even a polar fox or silver nutmeg!! I'm trying not to get excited, though, because I know how light DEHs can get. If she is one, I'll definitely keep her, and probably Ulysses or Anthony. As for the whites, I'm pretty sure they're REW but as that's such a low percentage (2%) and there are two, I'm pondering the possibility that there's c(h) involved in the family. But I think it's more likely they're REW.

9/27/98 Well today the ee's FINALLY have their points. One's skin is noticeably darker than the others and is getting kind of orange fuzz. I guess maybe one is DEH and one is nutmeg? We'll see. The 2 dark ones are almost definitely golden agouti. The 2 pinkies are still a mystery, though. They have no gray undercoat yet so I'm assuming they're not argente or lilac. Yay!

9/24/98 Hmmm something odd is going on! The 2 pink eyed, dark eyed pups should have their points today (see here for a pic of "points") but they don't. Maybe they're not DEH or nutmeg after all?! Or maybe they're just late.

9/22/98 The 6 pups are doing well, they have a good mommy. I investiaged closer today. I *think* there are 2 dark skinned ones (agouti, black, slate, or grey agouti), 2 ee's (nutmeg, DEH, polar fox, silver nutmeg), and 2 pinkies (argente, lilac, red fox, yellow fox, REW, ivory cream, RESN, or apricot).

9/21/98 There are at least 5 pups now! She might have more on the way, but I kind of doubt it. It looks like 2 are black eyed, 3 are pink. And one of the dark eyeds seems to have lighter eyes than the other . . . maybe grey agouti or slate?! ;) I wish. WHOOPS! Strike that, she has 6! I checked right before updating the page and she's got 6 little ones there, 3 dark eyed, 3 pink eyed = )
