Note: The "Name" and "Probate" columns are from the source listed below. The "Birth" column shows the birthdates for those early Erbs I have been able to identify from their known death dates or their having a unique given name in Lancaster Co. at that time. A question mark in the "Identity" column indicates either that there are several Erbs with the same given name and without a known death date that would distinquish between them or that there is no known Erb that fits. For unknown reasons, there is no will listed for Nicholas (Claus) Erb Sr., who died some time after 1752. On the other hand, the absence of a will for his youngest son Christian Erb (1734-1810) is only to be expected since he and several of his children died in Ontario, Canada. As did a number of other third generation Erbs. If anyone can add further identifications to this list or, even better, if anyone has a copy of any of these wills, I would very much like to hear from them.
