GEORGE STRAIT strikes back again due to the great deal
of fun and to the success of the last year's festival.
In March, 1998, STRAIT kicked off the 18-city GEORGE STRAIT CHEVY TRUCK MUSIC FESTIVAL.The stadium tour which ended June 7 in Houston, played to nearly one million people and grossed almost $ 35 million making it one of Pollstar's highest grossing tours of 1998. Besides, this tour had a higher average attendance than U2, the Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton and Elton John.
This time, the Nokia presents George Strait Chevy Truck Country Music Festival visiting nine new cities and listing nine stops from last year's tour.
The Strait's 1999 party caravan is including an all-stars cast such as Tim McGraw, Dixie Chicks, Kenny Chesney, Jo Dee Messina, Mark Wills and Asleep At The Wheel which will be bringing fun to a total of 18 US cities.
If the 1998 tour was such a huge success, one of the top live events in the industry (being this an all day event,
with non-stop musical performances by George Strait plus an addition of some country music's hottest acts, plus all the fun of Straitland) this (next) one is looking to be even better.
This year - that's just what MCA let the audience know - three Jumbo-tron screens will be added, making main stage performances visible during daylight hours. The day-long festivities will begin at 1pm. GPC Straitland is also the largest festival area associated with a concert. This area includes The Jack Daniels Lynchburg Live Stage featuring performances by some of country music's fastest rising stars. A variety of vendors, lifestyle exhibits and recreational fun & games will also be a part of the "GPC STRAITLAND" festival area.
