Wife breaks foot, husband hits jackpot

Friday the 13th brought far different fortunes for Gaylen and Mary Ackley of Industrial, Texas. She tripped and broke her foot; he won a slot jackpot of $1.35 million.

Gaylen Ackley, 61, hit the big payout on a Double-Diamond machine at Ceasars Palace about 9:15 p.m. The couple were visiting Las Vegas to participate in a slot tournament.

Mr. Ackley is preceded in death by his father, Clifford S. Ackley. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 1st at the Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel in Bellville. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2nd at the Industry Firemen's Hall in Industry, Texas. Services are under the direction of Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel.
