Mrs Wm. Logan attended the golden wedding of Mr and Mrs Collamer Severance,
Feb 11, at Millwaukee. Mrs Logan and her brother, Albert Ackley, being the only
guests present fifty years ago.
He died on 2 Feb 1932 in Troy Center, Walworth , Wisconsin.4,11 He appeared
in the census 1850,1860,1870,1880,1900 & 1930 in Wisconsin. 6 Jun

Albert Ackley Dies At Troy Center. Resided in Town of Troy His
Entire Life of 82 Years - Well Known Here.
On Tuesday evening of last week at about 6:30 o'clock Albert H.
Ackley died at his home in Troy Center aged 82 years. He had been ill for only
12 days prior to his death.
Mr. Ackley was born in the town of Troy on March 31, 1849. He
spent his entire life in that township. In addition to the district school he
attended Milton College for two years. He was married on January 31, 1877,
to Mary Lackey of Troy Center, and they resided with his father on the farm for
two years and then moved to the Morrison farm near Little Prairie, where they
spent eight years. Mr. Ackley then bought the old homestead northwest of Troy
Center, where they took up their home in Troy Center. He lived 16 years on the
old homestead and 29 years at Troy Center.
Mr. Ackley was a man who was always considerate of his tamily and
friends, kind and helpful to many, and thus endeared himself to all who knew
him.
His survivors are his wife and three daughters, Mrs. Olive Taylor
of Elkhorn, Mrs. Alberta Dingman of Troy Center, Mrs. Leila Peterson of Williams
Bay; also 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the M.E. Church in Troy Center last
Friday afternoon, the Rev. I.H. Bean of East Troy officiating. Burial took place
in the family burial lot in Evergreen on the Quarterline.
One of the best known citizens of Troy Township, and one of the
pioneer children of Walworth county, is Albert H. Ackley, a man whom every one
honors and likes, for his life has been fraught with much good to his
native locality. He was born in this township, March 31, 1849
(2), and received his education in the old-fashioned log cabin, later attending
the Milton Academy, which finally became Milton College. He grew up on
the home farm, worked hard when a boy and has devoted his life to agricultural
pursuits, being now the owner of an excellent farm of one hundred and sixty acres,
besides owning valuable property m Troy Center. He has been very industrious,
has accumulated a competency and is now living retired. Politically, he is a
Republican and he has been assessor of his township three terms; for a number
of years he has been a member of the Modern Woodmen of America. He was at one
time clerk of the local school board. He attends and supports the Methodist
Church.
Mr. Ackley was married in 1877 to Mary Lackey , a native of
Troy township, the daughter of Joseph and Agnes Lackey ( pioneers of this township,
and here Mr. Lackey died; his widow is now living in Troy
Center.
To Albert H. Ackley and wife the following children have been
born: Olive, who married Guy Taylor, of Troy Township; Alberta married to Romeo
Dingman, of this county; Leila Pearl married Mike Peterson, of Williams Bay,
Wisconsin.

Walworth , Wisconsin.4,11,28,31,41 She died
on 15 Jul 1942 in Williams Bay, Walworth, Wisconsin.4,11 She appeared
in the census 1880, 1900 & 1930 in Wisconsin. Her Obituary appeared

Mrs. Mary I. Ackley was born January 16, 1857, at Troy Center,
Wisconsin. She resided in the town of Troy Center all of her life except for
the last two years. At that time she was cared for in the home of Mrs. M.T.
Peterson, a daughter in Williams Bay. She was bed ridden for the
greater part of her stay in Williams Bay and was cared for by her daughter Mrs.
Olive Taylor. She gradually failed in health until the day of her death,
Wednesday, July 15,6:15 p.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert
H. Ackley who died February 2, 1932. Surviving relatives are three daughters:
Mrs. Olive Taylor, Mrs. Alberta Dingman, and Mrs. Leila Peterson.
