Lucinda "Lucy" Louise Irwin (ISB) was born 1/31/1878 in Cloveneden, Loughgall, Co. Armagh, Ireland (NI). She was baptized 6/31/1878. It is not clear when Lucy came to the United States and settled in Ardmore, PA. She married Samuel "Sam" Boyd**. He was born 6/24/1876 (probably in Scotland). Family records indicate that they originally moved to Saskatchewan in Western Canada in 1901. This may have been as an attempt at homesteading and after a couple of years they returned to Ardmore. During the next few years they had three their three children. In 1912, they moved to Toronto, Ontario where Sam worked as a wheelwright until 1915 wher he lost his leg during an accident. After he recovered he became a bookbinder which he worked at until he retired in 1950. Besides raising and caring for their own children the Boyds also took in a young girl named Kathleen McKee (see below). Lucy and Sam also took in and raised their grandson Robert James until Lucy's death. Lucy died 8/13/1950 in Toronto. Her funeral was from the Myers-Elliott Funeral Home Chapel in Toronto. She was buried at Prospect Cemetery in Toronto. Sam remained at home under the care of his daughter Marg and died 2/22/1957 after a long ilness. He was buried next to his wife.
Charlotte Marguerite "Marg" Boyd (ISB1) was born 7/16/1904 in Ardmore, PA. She and Francis "Frank" Thomas William Ford were married and had one child. He was born 4/13/1903 and died 11/14/1943. She later married George W. Chaplin. They eventually separtated and Marg died 6/15/1967. She was buried in Prospect Cemetery.
Frances Eleanor Ford (ISB1a) was born c.1941 in Toronto, Ontario. She married Charles "Charley" Vitagliano. They were last reported living in Boston, MA.
Irwin "Yank" Scott Boyd (ISB2) was born 7/13/1906 in Ardmore, PA. [The Boyd-Stephens Family]
Robert "Rob" William Boyd (ISB3) was born 7/27/1909 in Ardmore, PA. [The Boyd-Wood Family]
Kathleen Kay McKee was taken in as a young girl and raised as part of the Boyd family. She married Ralph Loney after he returned from serving in the Royal Canadian Air Force during WWII. They had 5 children that are still in contact with the Boyd family.
