1932 FELENG'S BAPTISM January 1, New Year Friday Morning The baptism took place in the Sampaloc Church here in the city. her tegawan is Cumareng Geleng, Miss Angela Arcigal. She donated a Baptismal Dress for the occasion. We had a little preparation and only three tables were served for our visitors. The affair lasted until 2:00 in the afternoon. At 3:00 in the afternoon, we took some snapshots in the Prudencio Street. Brother Frank and Uring came to share with our joys. The pig which was roasted is from Indang Pinang which she sold us at a cost of 6 Pesos only. The estimated expenses for the affair amounts to 35 Pesos. Boys are plenty. Dawayan ya. FELENG'S FIRST SMILE December 25, Christmas At one and a half month, feleng learned to smile and recognized persons. FELENG'S FIRST FLATTING ON FLOOR February 11 At the close of the third month, she began to know how to lift her body and head. FELENG'S FIRST CRAWLING Soon after the fourth month, she learned to crawl backward. Before sleeping at night, we place her by her mother's side and the next morning we find her very far from us. FELENG'S TEETHING ON THE LOWER JAW May 29 Her first teeth potrude on this day and she became sick because of them. She had fever during the two days until her two teeth emerged. She is crying all the time and we could hardly console her. FELENG'S FIRST SITTING DOWN At the sixth month, she is able to balance herself when we sit her on the floor. FELENG'S CRAWLING FORWARD June 11 At the seventh month, she is able to crawl forward with her hands and feet. FELENG'S TEETHING ON THE UPPER JAW June 29, Sunday After a month since her teething on the lower jaw, the teeth on the upper jaw began to come out. She is always worrying and ailing for the whole week. She could seldom smile inspite of our efforts to make her so. WEANING OF FELENG September 12 We are on vacation in the province for two months. At the age of ten months she had already stopped sucking her mother's milk. She is not hard to wean. First we gave her rice and bananas to eat. Then when she is already accustomed of taking such meals, she did not mind her mother's milk anymore. She is also fond of the camotes and coffee. From this time, she learned to drink cold water and she always insist for it. FELENG'S LONG ILLNESS Christo Roy- October 23 in the province Early in the morning, Feleng had a slight fever. While giving her coffee, she moved her bowels. So I washed her feet with cold water and took off her dress which is also full of dirt. Then I dressed her at once. After hearing the high mass, I found her with a high fever. We then gave "POS" of gugu boiled with vinegar. Then her fever became low the next day. But at that night, it raised again and she looks always lonesome and blue. She refused to eat even. So we did not know what to do. What we did is to call for Indang Guida and she gave her the "senapismo" with ripe bananas and paminta. For a few hours, the temperature became low and then high again. At this time, we are greatly alarmed and we always watch her closely. She is always very sleepy, no matter what consolation we would give her. Without much ado, we called for Indang Guida again. She applied the "cayos" with a five centavo piece to drive her "angin". She also rubbed Feleng's body with "malaubi," "dalayap" juice upon her neck which is heated a little and then placed the "linasa" on her sides and chest. At twilight, we gave her the "emplasto" of guava stalks on her stomach to invite her appetite. The following morning, she showed signs of recovery until at last thanks God that she had completely recovered. From thence, she became more cheerful and her sleepiness had gone.
