Henry Sines was a son of Major Henry Sines.......... David Sines was the oldest of Henry Sines' sons. He settled in Upshur County, West Virginia about 1870, or sooner. He married Sarah Catherine "Kate" Friend, Henry Friend's oldest daughter.(Note: David's Aunt Eliza, his Uncle William Jonas Sines' wife, was also Kate's Aunt, Eliza being her mother's sister). They raised a very large family of boys and girls. Children of David and Kate Sines: (1) Emanuel Sines was the oldest son and was married to Laura Withers of Eden, West Virginia. I think they had a boy and a girl. I don't know the girls name, but they called the boy little Lloyd. Emanuel Sines was a minister of the Gospel. He passed away years ago at about thirty years of age. His widow Laura, in later years married her brother-in-law, Alexander Bennett, of Goshen, West Virginia. (5) Arthur Sines, lived somewhere in Virginia, near the Bridgewater College. (6) Luther Sines, was a very large man, but he was crippled and lived with his brother Albert Sines, near Buckhannon. He was never married. (7) Minnie Sines, was the oldest of the girls. She married Wyett R. Gregory, son of Thomas and Jenny (Mills) Gregory. Wyett Gregory was a farmer and was also in the timber, lumber, and sawmill business. They had a large family of boys and girls. The oldest boy's name was Ezra Gregory. Bessie, the oldest girl lived in Buckhannon, West Virginia. (Note: Minnie's daughter, Fanny Idona Gregory, married James Quinter Sines, Minnie's 2nd cousin) (8) Manda (Amanda Jane) Sines, married Richard Daff. He did timber contracting and other activities. They had a large family; Charles, the oldest boy, was a railroader somewhere in Ohio. There was also a son named Otto and daughters named Vena, Adra, and Leona. (9) Louisa Elizabeth Sines, married Alexander Bennett of near Pickens, West Virginia. Their daughter Phadealia Alice married Charles Mulnix of Eden, West Virginia. I think he was a timber worker and a railroad man. They lived near Richwood, West Viriginia. Louisa's daughter Edna married Pharis Martin Sines, (Note: Columbus B. Sines' brother and Louisa's 2nd cousin), of Goshen, West Virginia, and lived in Buckhannon. Priscilla, the twin sister to Edna, married Charles Helms, of Thomas, West Virginia.
