*1. Richard Fields, Sr., was probably b. between 1730 and 1749. Little is known about him. He is my fourth great grandfather. He m. Susannah Emory, (Mrs. John Stuart) as her second husband. She was 1/4 Cherokee and was born in the Cherokee Naiton, Tennessee. Susannah and Richard had seven children who were at least 1/8 Cherokee.

2a. Richard Fields, Jr., b. ca. 1763 in the Cherokee Nation, Tennessee, and m. 1. Jennie Buffington, m. 2. Elizabeth Hicks, m. 3. Nancy Timberlake and m. 4. Miss Grapp. It is thought that he left no issue.

2b.George Fields, b. 1765 in the Cherokee Nation, Tennessee, and m. 1. Nannie Brown, m. 2. Sarah Coody. George was a Captain of the Cherokee Auxiliaries to General Andrew Jackson's army in the Creek War of 1814.

*2c. Lucy Fields b. ca. 1767 in the Cherokee Nation, Tennessee, and m. 1. Daniel McCoy, Sr., m. *2. James Harris.

2d. John Fields was b. ca. 1770 in the Cherokee Nation, Tennessee, and m. Elizabeth Wickett.

2e. Turtle Fields b. ca. 1772 in the Cherokee Nation, Tennessee, and m. 1. Ollie (a full blood Cherokee), m. 2. Sarah Timberlake.

2f. Thomas Fields b. ca. 1775, in the Cherokee Nation, Tennessee, and m. Nannie Downing.

2g. Susannah Fields, b. ca. 1777, in the Cherokee Nation, Tennessee, and m. 1. George Brewer, m. 2. Thomas Foreman.

*2C., Lucy Fields and James Harris were the parents of two children who are listed on the Harris page.
