Dewitt's wife Florence died after their daughter Margaret was born, leaving him to raise a small child on a farm in South Dakota. This was too much for him to handle, so Dewitt's sister, Estelle Antoinette Grace, raised Margaret as her own daughter.	Florence died before Margaret was even one year old. She had fallen on her front porch, resulting in an injury that eventually killed her.
Dewitt was the son of John Underwood and was born in Water Valley, MS. He came to Texas in 1882 and dealt in real estate, operated a newspaper, and became a county officer.
Pierre Cyrille Adolphe Dubois, M.D. became blind in his old age and went to live with his daughter Edwige, in the Underwood household in Ballinger, Texas.	Daughter of Michel Chaperon and Lady Constance Simard.
	Daughter of Antoine Marie and Marie Ducharme.
Pierre's brother, the Reverand Louis Dubois, who was Parish Priest at Becancourt from 1779 to 1797, persuaded him to settle at Becancourt where Pierre operated a blacksmith shop. There he met and married Victoire.
Of the Parish of Sainte Cunegonde, Diocese of Potier, France.

This house was built in 1850 by Dr. P. C. A. Dubois. It was his residence until 1867. It sits (or did)at Racine Street and Saint Anne Street in Chicoutimi, Quebec, Canada. Six of the eight children born to P. C. A. Dubois and Adele Constance Chaperon were born in this house.
