Ten copies of a draft of this genealogy were circulated in 1978. The present edition omits nothing of importance from that draft, corrects numerous errors, and contains much additional material. Holders of the earlier draft are requested to destroy it.
**Note** I received a copy of this genealogy after my grandfather, Frederick Ensign Johnstone Jr., passed away in 1990. Thomas Rea and Margaret Jane were my grandfather's paternal great grandparents. I have reproduced this information from that genealogy, which is not copyrighted as far as I can tell. If I am in error on my assumption of the copyright, I will remove all content pertaining to this reference, if so notified.
