Special Needs

Shadow (December 6, 1997)
Shadow is my very special foster girl. She is deaf and is in the process of learning hand signals similar to American Sign Language. I took her in on December 6, 1997 and my life hasn't been the same since. In addition to Shadow, I have my own dalmatian, Katie Sue, and an English Setter, Trooper.

Shadow is a very enthusiastic 1 1/2 years old. She has a beautiful build with a rear end that looks like a whippet's. She loves to run and play. Chewies are her favorite toy, unless Katie happens to have something else then that's what Shadow wants. She is an incredible lover and loves to snuggle. Especially on cold nights!! She's laying on the floor next to me as I type this. I am always amazed at how attached she becomes to her human. She doesn't let me out of her sight. I'm sure this is related to her deafness.

Shadow weighs in at about 48-50 pounds and stands about 20-21" at the withers. Her high energy level and enthusiastic approach to life would preclude placement with an active family, preferably one with a stay home human. She is unquestionably the alpha dog in any multiple dog household. She tolerates cats, but can get a little rough with them at times. Birds enthrall her but should be kept out of her reach-she is way too over-inquisitive!!!!

Paprika (January 18, 1998)
Paprika needs a patient, kind new owner who will take the time to teach her what is appropriate. She is an owner relinquishment case from Georgia. Paprika refuses to potty train. When left in her crate, she will poop and pee in it and then lay down in it.

She is approximately 2 years old and weighs in at around 50 pounds.

Non-Special Needs

Male dog (didn't give name) (January 15, 1998)
This is a five year old, neutered male dog who is an owner relinquishment. His current owner had a child and haven't taken the time to socialize the dog with the child.

He is a typical dal-rambunctious with high energy. He is currently living in an apartment and needs to have his own fenced-in backyard to romp around and play in. Do you have one? Can you give this guy the love he deserves? Click here if you are.
