My granddaughter Lauren is following in her mother and grandmother's footsteps. This was made for me as a Christmas gift when she was 8. She is very talented when it comes to crafts and now she is showing promise as a sewer. |

May 17, 2003 Lauren made this Cathedral Window table runner completely by machine. She made two squares while I explained the technique then took over from there. Trimmed it out with ric-rac along the edges.

Lauren helped her mother make this quilted window wall hanging for me for my birthday when she was 9. |

Lauren wanted me to teach her to sew. She had never sat at a sewing machine and stitched before and I was a bit apprehensive at first. My fears were swiftly abated when I watched how naturally she adapted to the machine. |  |

She was taught to pin, cut and sew. With a little practice to learn the machine, she made this vest for herself. |
 |
When the vest was finished she wanted to start on a quilt. I thought the easiest would be a fusible applique quilt that could be satin stitched. She has fused four and completed sewing the cat and butterfly. |  |
