Friday night led us back to the parades, where we found even more satire and hilarious political jabs. The Krewe D’Etat is known for having these types of floats and they did not disappoint.
After the parades, Beka was in town and brought with her yummy crawfish, something I had indeed missed dearly.
The Saturday before Mardi Gras is traditionally an all-day party. Parades start in the late morning and continue into the late evening. We staked out our spot amongst an average crowd and settled in with our cooler full of daiquiris and grill for a day o’ Carnival fun. However, the forecast called for rain, so Endymion (one of the “super-Krewes”) had decided to postpone their parade until the next night. So, we lugged the stuff back to our car, and planned on re-creating the scene after church the next morning.
