Cathy's Favourite Movies

As a frequent movie-goer(especially in KL), I'd like to share with you some of my favourite movies. I like movies that will make me speechless, as in the way they make you ponder about life and view the world at a different perspective. You may find that most of them are quite old as recent movies couldn't seem to inspire me at all. Not all though, some of them like The Eye is still worth watching. Way to go, Angelica!

Below you'll find some of my favourite movies that I wouldn't say "boring!" even I've watched it for the n-th time.

1. Contact
Strong-willed, intelligent and brave - that's Jodie Foster in this movie. As a stargazer myself, my tears rolled down when she eventually overcame all the obstacles and pursued her dream - to contact with "someone" beyond the milky way. Her satisfaction is beyond description and it could only be seen through her inexplicable expression. You'll understand what i'm trying to say, that is, if you like sci-fi movies.
2. Center Stage
Yeah babe! I love dancing as much as these people in the movie - Center Stage! Although I can't dance as graceful as them (which is a fact that I've long known) but I love to share their passion in dancing. So, I bought the soundtrack and imagine myself as Jodie Sawyer.I know it's stupid..Also, my adrenalin surges and my satisfaction rises to the max everytime after watching the movie, which proved that the theory of uses and gratification is correct.:)
3. Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon
This is my favourite martial arts movie besides Wong Fei Hong. No, I'm not kidding you although I know most of them commented that they almost fell asleep in the cinema. If only you caught the real meaning behind all those fights in the restaurant and those typical "flying" scenes on the bamboo, you will treasure this movie as much as I do. Not only the storyline is wonderful, but the actresses are brilliant, too.(Sorry to Chow Yuen Fatt as I still prefer Jet Li:) Last piece of advice for this movie : go for the latent message.
4. You've Got Mail
Ahhh..here comes my all time favourite! I'm simply in love with Kathleen Kelly. She's so..friendly! Just like the daisies that Joe Fox bought her when she's sick. Yes it's romance..a very romantic movie that makes me think that I'm in love again :) Oh i bought the soundtrack too! Lovely songs..
5. Good Will Hunting
By coincidence, my good friend and I walked into the cinema without knowing what movie it was by looking at the title only. We were so surprised after the movie as it was simply amazing and touching. Robbie Williams and Matt Demon remain as the best actors in my heart. Watch it if you haven't. I'm planning to collect the VCD if I could get one.
6. The Sound of Music
"High on the hill was a lonely goathered..Lay O'd Lay O'd Lay Ee O!" Hehehe..here comes Julie Andrews, the captain and the seven children! Thanks to my auntie as she insisted that my sister and I to watch it when TV2 showed it for the 1st time. Ever since then, my sister and I were found singing "Edelweiss" on our relatives' wedding dinner. The songs are still unforgettable as they're well-recorded in my mind already.
