Please don't destroy everything good that the Ezzos have done for so many families. The Growing kids Gods way series is wonderful. Nobody is perfect. Look at the babies of the 70's they are
proof that something went terribly wrong with the "everyone is equal theory" Calling mom and dad
Carol and Steve, putting the child as an equal with an older wiser adult is nuts. Kids need to respect there elders, have respect for property and others, not only think of there own needs. Discipline is necssary kids can count on something. When I say so
ething to my kids the first time they know I'm being honest and truthful. I'm not a threatening and repeating parent. Kids respect that.
Please don't take everything good that the Ezzos have done and deface there reputation.

Hi!
I'm next to you in the children's ministry webring and wanted to check out my neighbor. I thought you would want to know that I couldn't get your links to work to view some of the books you recommend. I also wanted to let you know that I think you a have
a good point about the role of the church in splitting up the family. I had never thought of it. We have always been strong enough as a family to resist fragmenting ourselves into too many activties. But many Christian families feel obligated to make t
eir children jump through every hoop the church dictates. We feel strongly that we need to be tuned in first to the guidance of the Holy Spirit and second to the needs of each other and our family as a whole. Again, you bring up a good point.

The content of your site was very informative, being a new mom. I have a four month old, and I am totally breastfeeding. My pediatrician wants me to supplement with formula but my daughter will not take a bottle or formula for anything. My daughter is
etite like her parents but is very strong and healthy she is in the 5% on the growth charts. After much prayer and talking to many that have breatfed I have come to a place of peace about how she is growing, and realize she is in the Lord protective embr
ce.
I do disagree with one comment made in your site. Feeding a bottle is not a sin. God gave man the ability to create formula and would not condemn a mother for feeding a child a bottle. God loves each mother and child and has a unique bond with each one
and between each other. God's perfect plan may include solely breastfeeding, but not all is able to do that.
Thank you for the information in your site.

While I do have some concerns about the leadership and lack of accountability for the Ezzos, we cannot argue with the success we have seen with our children - both fat, happy, and healthy. I think the main problems encountered with Prep come from people
ho try to read it and then apply its concepts legalistically without counsel. The book presents things as black and white - as no book can present every scenario - but the classes - in which the information should be presented - provide a venue for pare
ts to ask questions and learn. I think it is unwise for a parent to take any program or advice as fact - that is why God gave us wisdom and prayer! Even La Leche has flaws. I think wise, godly parents will pull information from many resources and praye
fully apply what is best for their families. Thank you for your opinions. Let us continue to challenge each other in Christ to raise our children in the best ways possible!

I just had no idea you had done all of this research. I came across your site on Sept 25, 1999. When I first read some of the things from the BabyWise and especially the "Growing kid's God's Way" Book, I can't explain it, but it just didn't sit well with
y soul. Now I know why and I know I will stay far away from all of it! I go to my newborn, as I did my 4 yr old when she was a newborn, at the first sign of a wimper. We need to learn balance in our home, but actually, our kids come BEFORE our time togeth
r, because they are only little once and we just feel that building their self esteem is very important right now and being there for them is crucial. My husband is a wonderful role model for our daughters. He loves them and shows his love by being there
or them and spending quality time with them, so that when they get older, they won't go looking for love in other men. Trust me, your kids are going to know whether you have a good relationshp or not, WITHOUT this "couch time" stuff. I thank you for your
ime spent on this. In Him, Julie Carrraway, Greenville, S. Carolina

Thank you for your honest look at the Ezzo approach to parenting.
I am very concerned that this is being passed off as a biblical parenting program. How sad for all of us. I have a friend who subscribes to this 100% and her son was not thriving for a long time.
I am a breastfeeding counselor. My friend asked me for help in resolving the problem with her son. First of all I explained about supply and demand and how the hormones play into things. I suggested pumping between feedings for awhile- just until her m
lk supply was regained. When I suggested just making sure you nurse the baby whenever the baby needs to nurse, she sounded shocked and said "OH we have never done demand feeding! We are on a strict schedule."
Then I knew where the problem came from.
I have tried so hard to be kind, gentle, and otherwise non-judgemental to her and her beliefs but I wish there was some way I could help her see the light.
Any suggestions?
I thought of sending her your pages but I am really afraid that might overwhelm her to the point of no return.
Thanks again,
Lori

Dear Heidi
Hello from Cambridge, UK. Excellent stuff - I'm
the Administrator at Baby Milk Action - thanks for
your e-mail 31/12/98. Came back from our holidays
today to 130 messages - so didn't get around to
replying - bought it home to have a look at your
website - some great links too. Looks like I
qualify as a 'militant' (my son weaned himself at
18 months and is now 5 and asleep in my bed
still!) Have a great 1999! Best wishes

I very much enjoyed finding your site (thru the militant nursing mothers...which I guess I am). We can always use encouragement as we follow the path God has given us as mothers and as Christians. I left the workforce to be a SAHM several years ago and
ave never regretted that decision for a moment. My oldest daughter, Rebekah, celebrates her ninth birthday tomorrow. We also have a 5 1/2 year old son, Elijah, and a 4 year old daughter, Sarah. We begin homeschooling next week, having left a wonderful p
blic school at Christmas break. We believe this is God's will for our family and fully expect our new lifestyle change to be a terrific one. Thanks again for your site.

I am a Christian and really enjoyed reading your site. had a hard time w/your belief that offering a bottle is a sin, however. Mute point for us in that this baby doesn't want a bottle--just the real thing! He's 13 mos. old and I get so much pleasure o

I think you'd really enjoy my MS thesis, "Social Maturity of Home Schooled Children." It's lively, well-written, and draws support from a number of unexpected places for the Christian duty of home schooling. (http://members.aol.com/tomsmedley/index.htm)
I take the position that Christian support of public education is, at best, naive; an inadmissable redefinition of the Faith as a navel view, rather than a world view.
At worst, it (supporting public schools) is the proclamation that secular humanism is the moral equivalent of Christianity, since both are acceptable frames of reference for understanding the universe.
As you can guess, my views do not always make me popular w/ my peers!

THANKYOU! THANKYOU! I just got a computer, and did a little browsing under Christian Attachment Parenting- thinking I was the only one! Sure seems that way sometimes. I was so excited to run across your website. You hit every point that I would want t
say. I'm not currently breastfeeding, but I have two children that I nursed past a year, one past two years. Sometimes, it's hard as a Christian to find support for something that, to me, at least, seems so obviously part of God's design for us as moth
rs. I am amazed at how quickly some of us relinquish our jobs to those less qualified, or follow ideas that are more culturally based, rather than biblically based. GFI has been a sore spot for me in the past, and I even changed churches because of it.
A children's minister actually told me that Jesus Himself slept in another room away from Mary! I couldn't believe it. I was a teacher before being at home and also studied child rearing practices in history. It is amazing how many horrifying things ch
ldren have been subjected to because of our fallible human ideas of what's "best for them". Again, thanks and keep doing what your doing. God bless you!

I operate the Semper Reformanda site and would like to invite you to participate in a couple of new additions to the site. The first is a simple monthly survey. As soon as you make your response you will be able to review the results immediately if not so
ner :-) I thought it was kinda nifty. I determine what questions are included in the survey so I would love hear from you if you have any ideas or suggestions. The second is an online forum. I don't have any topics for this one I just thought I would let
t take it's own course. Hope to hear from you. The two additions can be found in the Gallery under "Forum" and "Survey Says" respectively just follow the link above.
By the way really nice site
Thanks and God Bless

Isn't it incredible that we have to be "militant" in order to raise our children as women have for millenia and as God designed our bodies to do? Here's hoping that someday our society will return to seeing breasts as something beautiful, for giving foo
and comfort, rather than for putting large implants into and using to sell magazines!
