Viz. First I will that all my just debts an contracts be paid out of my estate in covennent time after my decease. Item I leave the use of the remaining part of my __ land lying in the thee grand forke above Moses Bundy to my wife Sarah Hollowell dureing her naturil life. Item I give my Negro men David and Jonah to Thomas Hasket son of William to him and the heirs of his body lawfully begotten forever but if he should dy without such issue it is my will that the same Negro boys should return to John Hasket to him and the heirs of his body lawfully begotten forever. I, Sarah Hollowell of the County of Isle of Wight being at this time in perfect sense and memory do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following, vizt. I give and bequeath unto my sister Judith Hollowell seven yards of silk persian. I give and bequeath unto Mourning Hollowell the daughter of my brother Joseph Hollowell ten pounds current money and one gilded trunk. Item I give and bequeath unto my brother William Hollowell the use and labor of three negroes / to wit / Hagar, Stephen and Nathan, and their increase, during his natural life and after his decease to such of his children as he shall think fit, if any, if not then I give the sd Negroes and their increase to such of my brother Joseph Hollowell's children as my brother William shall think fit. I also give & bequeath unto my brother William Hollowell all the rest and residue of my estate / not before given / be it of what nature or kind soever. 1704 Norfolk Co., VA Quick Rents - Jno Hollowell Sr - 524 acres. Norfolk Co., VA, at a court held 17 July 1719, certificate of administration is granted John Hollowell, son of John Hollowell, Sr., deceased, he having complied with the law .. it is ordered that Thomas Scott, Thomas Wright, Walter Bayle and Joseph Cherry or any three of you meet sometimes betwixt this and next court and appraise the estate of said deceased (Deed Book 10, 1718-1719, p. 77). Thomas Scott, Walter Bayle, and Joseph Cherry met at the house of John Hollowell, Sr., deceased and appraised the goods and chattels which amounts to sixty pounds, thirteen shillings, and seven pence, this 29 day of July 1719 (Book of Orders and Appraisements, p. 63). Things not appraised 16 head of small young hoggs, 62 pounds of dry hides, 24 geese and 360 feet of plank that my father bought towards building his dwelling house which is not yet and a small paid of pocome given under my hand this 21 Aug. 1719.
