The Baptism of
Master Parker John Callahan
The Second Page
We
are now standing before the Baptismal Font. You may notice this is not very big or similar to the "pool"
one may be baptized in. Every denomination has different ideas about Baptism,
and so I am reminded of what my professor in seminary said about the water
of Baptism, "You can never use too much water. So, pour it on!"
Tom is reading to us the questions we answered on behalf of Parker.
Parker is not an adult nor can he express faith in Christ yet. That
is why we are expressing it for him and will teach him about Christ along
his journey.
Parker
is now being baptized "in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the
Holy Spirit." Mom and Granddad are standing and watching with smiles
on their faces. I am trying not to mess up the words. And,
Parker is trying to figure out where that water is coming from. Afterwards,
I took him around the church for him to see everyone. They are his
brother and sisters in Christ, now.
We are now praying that Parker will grow
in wisdom and faith in Christ. Of course, he had a few things to
pray for, and he voiced them along with my words. The hair is wet, but
he still looks good in the outfit.
