The Baptism of
Master Parker John Callahan
The Third Page
We
are back at the house. Parker is all baptized and everything, and
so it was time to eat and celebrate. Our house was nice and full
of people, one of them being my Aunt Vivian on the right.
Prayer
is the first order before dining - it was a beautiful day to sit outside
and eat. Most of the folk in this shot are Ohio friends - my stepfather
James is standing with Master Parker (is he praying, too!?!?), and my youngest
cousin Mike has his back to you.
After dinner, we all gathered in the living room to open some presents,
presented to Parker by those present. Of course, Parker has to sneak
in a bottle now and then. He needed it, because by the end of the
day he was pooped for many hours. My Grandmother Davidson is seated
to the right. My Dad is holding Parker once more.
I
like this picture - although the flash didn't go off, it still looks good.
We are opening presents, and you'll notice that Parker is both surprised
and excited by all of them. I think this is the "Jesus Loves Me"
book we got. It has a button on the lower-right page that played
the song. You then can read along with the music. Parker doesn't
know the words yet, but he likes to sit with book in hand and to push
the button over and over again to hear the song.
I submit this picture,
because I have a question for you. Does Parker look tired in the
picture or not? My wife thinks he does - you can see the expression
on his face, she said. I don't think he looks tired. Bewildered
maybe, but not tired. This picture was taken towards the end of our
party, so Parker may have been close to being knocked out.
Have you ever wondered what the backstage
activity looks like after a production such as a play or a concert?
Maybe it looks like this: blue jeans, slouched postures, shirt tails hanging
out, no shoes on the feet. If Parker doesn't look tired in the last
picture, I definitely look pooped in this one. Tamara wasn't too
far behind.
