You will need a blender or a food processor. Add one carton of fresh chicken livers to the processor and blend until thoroughly liquified. Add one large egg and process. Add in just enough uncooked oatmeal and blend. By "just enough" I mean one does not need to measure with this recipe but you need to add enough oatmeal to make a drop cookie batter. Thick enough to drop with a tablespoon. Add garlic...preferably fresh minced and dried parsley to batter and blend. I like about a tablespoon of each. Line your cookie sheet with foil and lightly oil the foil to prevent the cookies from sticking. Drop large tablespoon lumps of cookie dough on your foil. Depending on the carton of livers you purchased...this recipe will make a dozen or more large cookies. Bake cookies at 350 degrees F for twenty minutes. Remove and cool on cookie racks. Refrigerate when cool. Cookies will keep up to four days in refrigerator but also freeze well!
This cookie is dry to handle and you can break off small pieces in the show ring to feed but is also big enough for the dog to "Watch".
When I bake these "cookies", my dogs sit by the oven and wait for the oven timer to ring! Human members of your family will not be so delighted IF they think you have made oatmeal cookies!
