Rebecca is the daughter of Henry Cousins Worsham & Judith Maria Bland.
She md Benjamin Franklin Hudgins 15 Nov 1853
Dinwiddie Co., VA. Benjamin b 12 Nov 1831 Matthews Co, VA at "Clifton"
on the Piankatank River, and d. 25 Mar 1894 Hampton, VA. He was Elliott
Washington Hudgins' cousin, they had the same grandfather, Houlder Hudgins b
1738 Liverpool, England, & d 1815 Mathews Co, VA at "Clifton" on
the Pianketank River. His grandmother was Mary Gwyn. Capt. B. F. Hudgins
attended Hampton Military Academy and graduated from the Virginia Military
Institute (VMI) in 1852. He was a Confederate Captain in the Hampton Grays in
the Civil War, a unit composed of Hampton residents and commanded by graduates
of Col Cary’s Academy. After the war he became a planter and merchant. He was
a lawyer in Hampton, VA and is named as executor of Dr. Worsham's will. Elliott
Worsham Hudgins was Dr. Worsham's grandson and as his parents both died by the
time he was 2; he lived with his grandfather and maiden aunt, Frances Bland
Worsham. He was well provided for by Dr. Worsham and built the house at 422 W.
Main, Blackstone, VA after Oldenplace burned. (422 W. Main burned in the 1960’s)
He was bur. St. John's Churchyard, Hampton, VA. They had nine children, four of

Benjamin (in the picture, left) was Elliott Washington Hudgins' cousin, they
had the same grandfather, Houlder Hudgins of Mathews Co, VA. Capt. B. F. Hudgins
graduated from VMI in 1852 and served the Confederate Army of Virginia as
Captain. He was a lawyer in Hampton, VA and is named as executor of Dr.
Worsham's will.

a will dated 26 Nov 1800 & d 1803 Amelia Co., VA. Elizabeth left a will
which was proved 19 Feb 1827 in Prince Edward Co., VA.

2.1.4.2.1.4. Abram Poindexter Maury. A short biography is in “The Twentieth
Century Biographical Dictionary of Notable Americans”: Volume VII, M. Maury,
Ann: MAURY, Abram Poindexter, representative, b in Williamson county, Tenn.,
Dec. 26, 1801; son of Abram (1766-1825) and Martha (Worsham) (1775-1844) Maury,
who came from Lunenburg county, Va., to Williamson county, Tenn., late in the
eighteenth century; grandson of Abraham (1731-1784) and Susannah (Poindexter)
(1746-1801) Maury; great-grandson of Matthew and Mary Ann (Fontaine) Maury,
Huguenot refugees, married in England, 1716, and settled in Virginia, 1719.
Abram Poindexter Maury received a superior education, and when sixteen years of
age was taken to St. Louis, Mo., by Col. Thomas H. Benton, to edit a newspaper.
He resigned the editorship the next year to enter the U.S. Military academy, but
left the academy in 1819 to study law and edit a newspaper in Nashville, Tenn.
He was married, Jan. 12, 1825, to Mary Eliza Tennessee Claiborne, a niece of W.
C. C. Claiborne, first governor of Louisiana. Mr. Maury purchased the homestead
in Williamson county, on the death of his father in 1825, and he represented the
county in both branches of the Tennessee legislature and in the 24th and 25th
congresses, 1835-39. After 1839, he devoted himself to the practice of law, to
literary pursuits, and to lecturing. He died in Franklin, Tenn., July 16, 1848.

Abstracts from John K. Martin Papers, War of 1812, William L. Montague, Letter
from Baltimore, MD dtd 22 Mar 1853 from H.B. Montague referring to his sis in
law as Mrs. Hannah Montague now in Petersburg. William L. Montague & Hannah
F. Worsham were married. in Amelia Co 15 Mar 1825. He died in Abbeville Dist, SC
22 Mar 1835. Hannah was in her 44th year in 1853. (Virginia Genealogical Society
