What's Happening: Church News Updates
CHURCH REMODELING NEWS
Remodeling of the sanctuary began January 15! The church plans on building a new extended platform for the pulpit area and replacing the carpeting in the pulpit with hardwood flooring. The piano will be raised level with the pulpit platform. Hardwood flooring will also be installed in the foyer and hallway areas.
Stained wood trim in the sanctuary will be painted to match the new Baptismal Facade built by Pastor York's son, David. The planned color for the new carpet in the sanctuary is a plush teal and the planned fabric for recovering the pews and choir chairs is a teal print. A commercial grade carpet will be installed in the remainder of the church.
Also, stain glass windows depicting the life of Christ for all 8 of our present windows will be installed!
Bring your change for the JOASH CHEST! All donations go toward the remodeling and redecorating fund. We've collected over $22,000 so far!
AWANA CLUB
Awana Club meets on Wednesday Evenings from 6:45-8:15PM. For children ages 3 years through 6th grade. See pictures here

CHILDREN'S CHURCH NEEDS WORKERS
Our extended Session has been expanded and divided into two groups! We will have children's church during our Sunday Morning Worship Service for 3-5 year olds and for first-third graders. If you would like to teach one of these age groups once a month, please see Suzanne Thomas. Helping a child learn about Jesus will bless your life in a special way!
NURSERY NEEDS WORKERS
Due to illnesses of some of our regular nursery helpers, we are very shorthanded! Please see Susan Farris if you would like to help with the nursery one Sunday a month, or even on an occassional basis.
CHRISTMAS MUSICAL
Our Christmas Musical this year was called, "A Family Christmas" and was a churchwide production that involved adult choir, youth choir and children's choir.
CHILDREN'S CHOIR
Children's choir-EAST COBB KIDS- for children ages 3 years through 6th grade is on Sunday evenings at 6PM. Charlece Golden: Children's Choir Director.
UTH UPDATES
Come join our Uth Explosion! Uth for ages 7th grade-12th grade meets Wednesday Evenings at 7PM in the house. Plans for our summer mission trip to Niagara Falls are now underway! More Cleaning teams are needed! We do not hire cleaning help but depend on our members keep the church clean on a rotating basis!
If you cannot clean on your week, please swap with another team. Also, cleaning can be done at anytime that is convenient for you, not just on Saturday.
