John III was born in VA in 1753 or 1761 and came with his parents to Crab Orchard KY in about 1779. He settled in Green Co. KY and received a land grant of 200 acres. In 1798 Green Co was divided and Pulaski Co was formed; John III's farm was in Eastern Pulaski Co.
John's middle name of Morgan is from the (dubious quality) LDS AF. The Vardaman book doesn't have that middle name for him.
