Ada graduated from school at Webster and Sigourney and attended the University of Northern Iowa. She taught school in Webster and the rural schools around Webster. She was a member of the Methodist Church for over 70 years and also a 50 year member of Eastern Star, served as superintendent of Sunday School and a member of Woman's club.

I believe Ada and her husband lived on (or owned, at least) her grandfather's old homestead in Section 30 of English River Township (by Webster). In 1965, 240 acres there is owned by Ada Sturdevant et al. That means this land was in the family for over 100 years. Ada also owned another 80 acres in the next section (19) north.
