Blanche was secretary for the Webster School many years. Due to her father's ill health, she moved to California where she lived until his death (1957) and then she returned to Webster. Blanche was secretary for the Sorden Cemetery Association and attended the United Methodist Women in Webster. She was an avid gardener until she suffered a stroke two years before her death.

Most sources give Blanche as her first name, with L. as middle initial, including her marriage record, obituary, father's obituary, and the 1910 census. But in the 1900 census, she is named Lelia B., and a Morgan family bible of Mildred (Yoakam) Mugge has her birth recorded and her name as Lela Blanche.
