There are a few confusing about Ralph's link to his father Carey. Ralph is listed as Carey's son in the 1900 census and the 1902 Morgan family book by Appleton Morgan names Ralph as a son of Carey. However, Carey's obituary doesn't mention Ralph, only Carey's other three children. Ralph's obituary doesn't name his parents, but give three other siblings (Jeff, urpin, Mrs. Fannie Clark, and Mrs. Elizabeth Morgan) who don't match up with Carey's family at all. However, descendents of Ralph do record him as a son of Carey. Another curiousity: I haven't found any source which has Ralph and Carey, Jr. named at the same time. Ralph and Carey Jr. were about the same age, but were two distinct people.
