Bridget and Eugene Lovejoy lived in Boone in 1880 and had moved to Des Moines sometime between 1890 and 1898. From 1898-1902, Eugene was a fireman with the Chicago and North Western Railroad. Nine of their 12 children were living in 1900, eight of them at home, according to the census. In 1904, this Lovejoy family's address is 840 Wallker, and in the 1905 they are living at 822 E. 6th in Des Moines. Eugene is a railway engineer in 1904-1905, still with C & NW. Listed at the same address in 1905 are Eugene, Agnes M., Catherine Z., Frank E., and Harriett M. I think Harriett M. must be the Mary H. from the 1900 census. Bridget can be found at 1917 Walker in Des Moines from 1923 through 1937.

Bridget lived with her daughter Agnes and her family at the time of Bridget's death. At her death, Bridget had 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. I think I'm still missing a couple of them, as of October, 2000.
