She was named Jane in Scotland at birth, but named Sarah J. in the 1885 Iowa census, so apparently she went by Sarah Jane in Iowa. She's named Mrs. Jane Thompson of Missouri in her mother's obituary.

I lose track of Sarah Jane's family after 1885, so I don't know if there are any further Thompson descendents.
