Herman had been hospitalized with a heart ailment the Friday before he died. In the hospital, Morgan, ``in a sudden fit of violence, physically attacked an aide Sunday morning, then jumped from the window to the roof of the business office. The doctor reported that the fall apparently was broken by an air conditioner or awning.'' The combination of injuries from the fall and his heart problems contributed to his death the next afternoon.

Herman had 15 grandchildren at the time of his death.
