Mary Louise attended Davenport High School and the State University of Iowa. For two years she was educational assistant of the State Historical Dept. in Des Moines.

Mary was a member of St. Augustin's Catholic Church in Des Moines and a volunteer for Junior League of Des Moines. She had four grandchildren at her death and her husband Robert was still living at the time of her death, also.
