The Footprints WWW site states that Harriet made her home in the western part of the country. Before her marriage she lived in Plattsmouth.

According to records passed down through Ada (Sprague) Ballou, Hatty practically raised her parent's children by herself after her mother died. Hatty went out west with her husband who drank. Her husband and son died. Her family never forgave her for her marriage and she never came back.
