Grace moved to California in 1941 and was living in Richmond, CA, in 1947 at the time of her sister Evelyn's death. She spent a lot of time helping Evelyn's husband Hank to care for her sister at home. She was living in El Cerito, CA, by 1956.
Grace was interested in craft work and did embroidery, crocheting, fabric painting and other handiwork. She loved to travel and kept up a large correspondence with many friends and distant family members.
She married Roy Winget on May 11, 1968 in Madison, SD. They had known each other in Wentworth. Grace was a member of the Presbyterian Church, the Rebekah Lodge, and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Services were held at the Hallenbeck Funeral Home in Madison, and burial was in the Hetland Cemetery.
