Evelyn taught school in South Dakota. She taught Denver Township School 44 north of Hetland during the 1926-27 and 1927-28 school years.
She was a security worker in California during WWII. She married H. G. (Hank) Erks May 3, 1942 in CA. They lived in Napa after their marriage at 1020 Central Ave. She had been a resident of Napa for 7 years before her death.
Evelyn died of breast cancer. Services were held at the Treadway Funeral Chapel with H. F. Becker of the Lutheran church officiating. She was cremated and her ashes are in Napa, CA, at the Tulocay Memorial Mausoleum.
