The tombstone inscription for William is on one side of his marker. Another side has Rebecca's inscription, and a third side has their son James.

Mary Sherman was married first to Charles Conklin, and had three daughters by that marriage, Sarah Jane, Mary A. and Elizabeth F. Mary married James H. Asher and Elizabeth married Horasho Coy Wood. Sarah married Henry Martin Beeson in Marshall Co., Iowa on Nov. 25, 1864. Sarah and Henry had several children.

Mary Ballard is in the 1880 census Albion Twp, Marshall Co., Iowa listed as the mother of Martin Beeson (probably his mother-in-law, being the mother of Sarah Jane (Conklin) Beeson)
