Charles bought his father's house in North English in about 1918, shortly after he married and all the other children had finished school. He took a correspondence course in plumbing and heating and owned his own business in North English his whole life. He suffered a stroke about a year after retirement (11 years before he died) and never fully recovered from it.
Lyman Morrison wrote the following: Uncle Charlie farmed close to North English in the 1930s. Clem Seiwert rented a farm nearby for a couple of years, after Grandad died. I saw them at Grandad's a few times when I was a small child. I don't really know very much about this family, as my parents never visited them.
