Andrew's granddaughter Marcia Pirnie wrote this:
My grandparents came to Tacoma for a visit --- my grandmother's sister lived
here. They decided to stay. He was a machinest for the railroad. He was
born in Cedar Rapids IA and the family moved to Dakota Territories in the
1880s. He knew Sitting Bull. My gr-grandmother used to help the Sioux when
they lived there and when my grandfather was an infant they made him
moccasins and we have one left. I gave it to my brother John.
