Eugene moved to Graceville in 1903 with his parents. He moved to Browns Valley, Minnesota in 1940. He was in the family undertaking business, first in Graceville and then opening his own funeral home in Browns Valley with his wife Marie. Marie continued to operate their Beaulieu Funeral Home for many years after Eugene died. Eugene was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Browns Valley, and a member of the Knights of Columbus there.

Marie remarried Harry Kieserling after Eugene's death. Harry also died before Marie died. Marie lived for several years in Arizona before returning to Browns Valley in 1987 and entering the nursing home.
