I think Mary is listed in the 1900 census as Mary Lawlor, a boarder with
some nuns in the town of Vail. The age is right and it lists her
father's birthplace as Kentucky and her mother's as Ireland which fits
perfectly.
Mary and Ed lived on the farm where Ed was born and raised and died.
When Mary died, none of their six children were grown yet.
Ed was a son of John and Mary (King) White. They came
to Crawford county, Iowa in 1875 in a covered wagon and started
the White farm four miles north of Westside, Iowa. This farm
was later declared a century farm and Ed's son Joe White
lived there in 1978.
