The evidence linking Polly with her father, John is pretty circumstantial, but I believe it is correct. Mostly based on places they lived. The John Ballard family lived in Jackson Co., Indiana, and that is where Polly was married. Other members of this same John Ballard family later come to the same part of Keokuk Co., Iowa as Polly and Thomas Morgan. Reuben Ballard's will also mentions a granddaughter Polly Ballard, but doesn't say who her parents are. It probably might be this Polly. The probability that Polly belongs in the John Ballard family was pointed out by Dorothy Foubert.
