He married Mary Ann Wright January 16, 1883 in Bell County, Texas, daughter of James Wright and Theldra Toliver. She was born April 18, 1867 in Lawrence Co., Alabama, and died December 02, 1947 in McLennan Co., Texas.

Funeral services for George Bogart Richard, 77, who died at his residence, 1510 Ross Ave at 5:40 P.M. Saturday, will be held at Comptons Chapel at 3 P.M. Sunday Reverend A. Reilly Copeland officiating, burial in Rosemound cemetery
Mr. Richard was born in Bell Co and had lived in Waco for the past twenty years. Surviving are his widow, one daughter Amanda Maddox of Holland Texas; ten sons, Charlie, Port, Sol D., Ross, Wilburn, A.J., Wylie, George all of Waco, Fred of Belton, and Claude Richard of San Antonio. Three brothers Ben Richard of Blackwell, Mel Richard of Temple and Willie Richard of Temple. Three sisters Mr. Mat Hanks, of Sweetwater, Mrs. Mary Floyd of Temple and Mrs. Queenne Dawson of Lorena and 56 grandchildren (Sunday Tribune Herald June 25, 1939 page 6)

They moved to Williamson County from Bell County by 1900. They lived there until 1910 when they moved back to Bell County. They didn't move to Waco until the early 1920's.
