Bob
Who would name a cat (especially a
female cat) Bob? Two people who were definitely NOT going to keep
this one ("We have to call her something until we find her a
home." "Fine, something generic, how about Bob, that's a name
for a cat we won't get attached to.").
Four years have passed since Clarence's accession to the throne and we are now living at
the 'Jersey Shore'. Husband is walking through the parking lot at
work when some idiot throws a bag of trash out the car window and
drives off. Conscientious employee that he is, Husband picks up
the trash to put in the dumpster and discovers a little, skinny,
scared-to-death Calico cat in the bag. Brings her home (what
else?), we have her leukemia tested, vaccinated and spayed while
searching for a "good home" for her.
She becomes very attached to Tigger. Clarence accepts
her into his realm without hesitation. She is very skittish and
nervous, spends most of her time in the basement or guest bedroom
and prefers the feline fuzzies to her humans, but occasionally
she'll surprise us and appear at our feet, purring and letting us
know, she loves us too.
It's been 8 years now, I guess we'll
give up the search and keep her. Too bad we can't change her name
tho.
