Sudbury & Dist. Quilting & Stitchery Guild
to Our Guild
In 1975, a meeting was called by Mary Conroy to all interested people to
form a guild for quilting and stitchery. 52 people showed up at her house
for that meeting in June 1975. Mary was elected as the first president.
The first actual guild meeting took place at St.Albert's School in Sudbury,
Ontario, but after 29 years they are held at the Parkside Center, in the YMCA on Durham St. in Sudbury.
"Our Goals"
- To provide a forum for quilters and needleworkers to meet and exchange
ideas and expertise.
- To form a vehicle for bringing qualified experts in the fields to Sudbury
for seminars and workshops.
- To work on community projects in quilting and stitchery.
- Any other aims and purposes as the membership shall deem appropriate.
- To put on the best quilt show possible every three years.
We are hoping that you enjoyed the tour of our guild.
