Some people are proud of a certain heritage in their lines. Whether it's Italian, German, belonging to "royalty" in some native country. In my case, I'm extremely proud of my Swiss roots as well as my Scottish lines. Aye, laddies and lassies, 'tis a fine day to get out of bed as a Scotsman.
After the Gyger line, I have probably spent the most time on the McColl's, even though it hasn't been entirely fruitful. Although, I have some good substantial information on the lines thanks to Virginia McColl, and it was a real treat researching one part of this line in the Rochester, NY Library on a business trip, I still can't get back across the "big pond" with the McColl's yet. I have been told that my ggrandfather, Richard K. McColl came to the States from Canada and his betrothed, Nettie Ingall, followed him after he was established. The two soon married and the next generation was started. Richard K. McColl was a real estate auctioneer, allegedly one of the best in the Bureau County, IL area. I know one person that thought a great deal of him, my Father. Born in the McColl house in Princeton, Bureau Co., IL, I can still see the memories racing past my father's eyes whenever we went past that house. He would look over at the two-story red brick structure and proclaim, "I was born in that house!"
