Jim and Etta were married July 7, 1915 in Hickman County, Tennessee and were married for 52 years when Jim died at the age of 76, Etta lived another 17 years to the age of 82.
They raised ten children born between 1919 - 1927, all live births. Between the ten children there are 25 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 3 great great- grandkids. If I have left out counting any of the great-grandchildren, sorry and will change the number if need be.
Jim and Etta raised their children in Hickman County & Montgomery County, Tennessee and even went to Kentucky for a very short while. While Popa worked as a share cropper, working hard to bring in a crop that would give the landowner a good profit and him a good share, Mother raised the children; cooking, cleaning, sewing, baking, canning, tending the house garden, chickens and doing all the families laundry out in the yard, over an open fire, in a kettle. She did all this without any of the modern conviences, such as indoor plumbing, electricty, and with 7 girls, put up with a lot of PMSing.
