DC METRO BRANCH
CONCERNED UNITED BIRTHPARENTS
Welcome to the Home Page of DC Metro CUB (Concerned United Birthparents).
We are the Washington DC and close by Maryland and Virginia branch of CUB, a national organization serving adoption-affected people and others who are concerned about adoption issues. CUB has local Branches throughout the country, publishes a newsletter, and holds an annual retreat. The 2008 CUB National Retreat was held on October 16 - 19 at the Hilton Garden Inn, in Carlsbad, California.
SUPPORT:
Our group is a support and education group for birthparents and adoptees. The meetings are small in number with ample time for each attendee to give and receive meaningful support. Meetings are usually held on the first Sunday of the month from 1:30 until 4:00 pm. Newcomers are always welcome.

READING:
There are many books available on all aspects of adoption, and reading them can be very helpful to anyone who has been touched by adoption. Click here for a book list of recommended reading.
AMERICAN ADOPTION CONGRESS (AAC):
Many of our members are also actively involved with the American Adoption Congress. AAC is a large international network of individuals and organizations committed to truth in adoption and to adoption reform. Membership is open to adoptees, birthparents, adoptive parents, professionals, and all others who share a commitment to the AAC's goals.REUNION:
Many of our members have had successful reunions over the past few years. Click here to read Lynda's story, written by a young birthmother who was reunited with her teenage son. You can also read about the first meeting between another member, an adoptee, and the birthmother that she searched for and found in December, 1998. Several of our members are currently searching, or about to make contact for the first time. The monthly meetings are extremely helpful during these exciting but stressful times.
