!Birth: -1880 CENSUS OF UINTA CO, WYOMING SHOWS NAME AS "WALTER", AGE 12 (BORN 1868), JOHN IS NOT LISTED WITH TILFORD. IS WALTER THE SAME AS JOHN OR IS JOHN IN ANOTHER HOUSEHOLD? Note: birthdates for all siblings in this family seem to to be off by -2 years -!1900 CENSUS OF IDAHO (census bureau) AGE 38 (BORN 1862) IN WYOMING. Same year the Fort Hall Agency census lists John as age 34 (b. abt. 1866) !'South Pass 1868" in the journal of James Chisolm, he writes of visiting with Tilford at his home in Wind River Valley, probably in the late Summer-early Fall. He only mentions one child of Mary Kutch as being in the household "Her baby about two years old is the prettiest little cherub I ever saw (speaking of John's sister Nettie)" Mary was probably still pregnant with John at this time (Chisolm further gives a physical description of Mary - "her figure is not a model of symmetry"). pg 185. According to this information, John was probably born in the last few months of 1868.
